Ultrasounds are still quite triggering for me, the dark room, the sound of the clicking in the taking of the pictures still brings up some PTSD

Geriatric Mama Instagram Post by Victoria Bye:

Victoria is a blogger- as well as British actor, James Bye’s wife. Her instagram handle is: @lifewiththebyes

In April, 2023 Victoria posted:

Caption reads:

“Yep, it's finally come to this. I need glasses.

It's been a bit of a shock to the system... the fact that I need them due to the simple fact that l'm getting old... and well, basically falling apart at the seams apparently!

Not the ideal news to get as l'm about to pop a baby out. It seems I should be sitting back with a bag of Werther's Originals & a steaming cup of Horlicks (which is- I guess popular in Britain- it’s a sweet malted hot milk powder)- rather than gallivanting about to 'baby bounce... & yet here we are.

I've heard several times now the phrase 'geriatric mother' and I can't actually believe this applies to me.

I'm not old am I? Sure, I have a few (many) grey hairs, the odd wrinkle here & there... but geriatric - really?”

Victoria gave birth to her baby in June of 2023 after two failed inductions; note:  Traumatic Birth Story.

Geriatric Mama Instagram Post by Courtney Brennan:

Courtney Brennan is a digital creator and geriatric mama of 2 boys; her handle is: @itscourtneybrennan

In March, 2023 Courtney posted:

Caption reads:

“I don't think I realized how much anxiety l've been carrying with this pregnancy until we had our 19 week ultrasound and I cried (happy tears)!

through the whole thing.

Each time we saw a leg, arm, foot, fingers, toes, heart, kidneys, brain...it was like I was finally exhaling and giving myself permission to be happy.

Not sure if other older moms feel this way, but because I'm having a "geriatric pregnancy," I think I've just expected things to go wrong.

This pregnancy has really thrown me for a loop physically (with being really sick) and also all the mind games it then plays with your head. I still feel a bit of the emotional grayness and cloudiness, but I'm slowly getting back to my full and best self.”

Courtney’s son, Jack Thomas, was born in July, 2023.
